| Williamstown Planning Commission Present: Arthur-Chair, Annie, Paige, Al & John Liaison: Stan Corneille – Not Present Clerk: Deborah Palmer The meeting was called to order by Art – Chair at 7:00 PM APPROVE AGENDA: The Agenda was approved by consensus. MINUTES OF OCTOBER 10, 2007: The minutes were approved by consensus. SELECTBOARD SHOOTING RANGE DECISION: At the last Selectboard Meeting it was decided to move on and maybe need to act on the issue of the Shooting Range at Town Meeting. Art gave out copies of a letter from Mark McCarthy and a letter to the Selectboard Chair from Art on this issue. SELECTBOARD VOTE TO REDUCE PLANNING COMMISSION FROM 7 TO 5 MEMBERS: The Selectboard voted to reduce the Planning Commission from 7 members to 5 at a recent meeting. ORDER OF BUSINESS #1 AND #3: The motion was made by Paige to approve the Orders of Business as written and seconded by John. Debbie will attach all four to the Bulletin Board for residents to see. FUTURE DIRECTION OF PLANNING COMMISSION: Budget figures are needed for the Treasurer/Manager for inclusion in the Town Report. Art gave some tentative figures which totaled $12,346. The meetings will remain on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The dates for the upcoming year (2008) are as follows: January 9, February 13, March 12, April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, October 8, November 12 and December 10. Each member of the Commission was asked to come to the next meeting with their input on what they see the future direction should be. NOVEMBER SEMINAR: No one is attending. MAIL: There was an amendment to the permit for the Loyal Order of the Moose to 12’ X 50’ addition on the North side of building to be used for office space and storage. There was discussion on how the Commission should be doing follow-up on the Land Use Permit requirements and if they are being followed. There was also a waste water permit for Julie Thayer on Palmer Rd. ROUND TABLE: Annie: Nothing Paige: Wondered about nominations for Citizen of the Year and would like to nominate Bill Palin. Discussion on Farmers Market and getting other people in here. Will contact Terry Knight of Economic Development and let her know that there were merchants in Barre City that were unhappy with the farmers market there this year and were looking for another town to come to. Al: Al volunteered some gardening area on his land that he would till for people to use. He is attending a meeting at VTC on Saturday 11/17. It is for Alternative Energy ideas and education. John: Nothing Art: Mentioned about Fibre Optic coming into town and also working on the Town Plan. Tunbridge had been working on the Town Plan for two years. The motion was made by Paige to adjourn at 8:30 and was seconded by Annie.
