WILLIAMSTOWN PLANNING COMMISSION
MEETING
Date: April 11, 2007
Location: Town Hall ( 7:00 - 8:30)

Not Present:  John, Matt

Doreen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.   


Continuous Items:

Minutes: The minutes were reviewed and the motion was made by Annie and seconded by Paige to approve the minutes as written.  John is working on the minutes from January to condense them and will bring them to the next meeting.   


Flood Hazard:  Art provided members with an update of cases related to projects within the 100-year flood plain. Art reported that he had talked to Dan Lemieux about continuing to fill in his land.  He would like to use silt from the Stevens Branch.  Art will speak with him and go over the flood plain map.  Art is working with the Agency of Natural Resources on all projects.

Mail:  Waste Water Permits and Applications:  WW-5-3473-1 for Raymond and Pamela Corriveau; WW5-4178 for Fernand and Dorothy Otis; and WW-5-4194 for James and Mary Ann Turner.

Other:  Dept of Environmental Conservation re: Williamstown Landfill site; Ed Magee re:  breakdown for approved 2007/2008 budget as well as notifying Commission of computer that will be made available in Conference Room in near future for use by Commissions; Ed Magee re:  Stormwater Cost Allocation for Williamstown Business Center; Environmental Commission re:  Project review sheet from James Verdon; Land Use Permit 5R1440 for Ducharme Machine Shop Addition. 


This Weeks Agenda Items: 


• Act 250 application: Jeff Blow request: Jeff Blow did not attend meeting re: Act 250 Application. 
• Community Projects and action plan was tabled until John was able to attend.
• Doreen presented an orientation packet for review. The package is designed for anyone new joining a Commission or Board, one for Planning Commission, one for Selectboard and one for Highway. 
• Art brought in a map of Williamstown that he had laminated.  Art, John and Al (instead of Matt) will work with the Listers to place colored pins to show growth and density since 2000.
• A short discussion occurred on a process to develop a fair and balanced Junk and Junkyard Ordinance: A decision was made to conduct an interest survey. The survey could list a number of ordinances and other non regulatory tools and it could be sent to all community members and for input. 
 


FUTURE DISCUSSION:  Whether to go to two meetings a month or extend to 9:00 PM. Draft of interest survey.
