NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS

Agreeably to the provisions of 32 V.S.A., §4111, notice is hereby given that the undersigned listers within and for the Town of Williamstown, Vermont have this day completed the abstract of individual lists of persons, co-partnerships, associations, and corporations owning taxable property in said town on the first day of April 2011; that they have this day lodged the same in the office of the clerk of said town for the inspection of taxpayers; that on the 18th day of June at 10:00 A.M. in the forenoon and the 20th of June at 6:39 P.M. in the afternoon, the undersigned listers will meet in the Town Hall in Williamstown in said town, to hear grievances of persons, co-partnerships, associations or corporations aggrieved by any of their appraisals or by any of their acts as listers whose objections thereto in writing shall have been filed with them as prescribed by statute, and to make such corrections in said abstract as shall upon hearing or otherwise be determined by them; and that unless cause to the contrary be shown, the contents of said abstract will, for the year 2011 become the grand list of said town and of each person, co-partnership, association or corporation therein named.

Personal Property Filing for 2011

Attention all businesses within Williamstown: you must file your personal property invoice between now and May 15. (Read the regulations.)

You can get the inventory sheet and depreciation schedule right here or call Town Hall to have them sent to you.

Williamstown's Property Maps are now online.  You can view your property or those of friends and neighbors.  NOTE - All the maps are in PDF format. You must have a PDF reader program on your computer.

To find your parcel first open the index map and search for your street or road.  You will see a circle with a map number.  Find that number and choose the map from the list below to get a larger view of your Street and parcel.  On the larger map you'll find your Parcel information: your last name, Parcel ID and the acreage.  Note the parcel ID if you are going to grieve or want to view the detail card (at town hall) for your property.

What is the Grand List?

 Each town in Vermont is expected to maintain a Grand List of properties in that town. The grand list is contains facts about the property and a value for the property. The listers are charged with maintaining the list and the values on it. The Town's Selectboard uses these values to determine the tax rate needed to fund the current year's budget.
