Minutes Meeting of Sept. 25, 2006

Broadband

Chris Dessureau, a Williamstown resident and broadband professional, presented ideas on how to supply broadband to Williamstown and what is involved. We have now received in the vicinity of 150 responses to the broadband survey, most of which are interested in at least learning more about it.

The presentation by Chris was encouraging. There may be grants available but after the presentation last night it might make sense to form a cooperative instead. There is still a lot of legwork to do but it appears worth pursuing.


Farmers Market.

No update from Jean. Terry said she feels we need to encourage more growers.

Business Directory

The directory is still being edited. Terry does not think the map portion will be included in the first version.

Educational Series

Rama has suggested we implement an educational series for the local businesses to present what might be available to them for promotions, loans etc.

Rama has been trying to get a sense of what people might be looking for in this area.



Next meeting
The next meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 at 7:00 PM at the Town Hall.
