    For the Select Board -

    • Are we able to mow the property behind the bank (Proposed Rte 64 Park)? Where are we in the process of obtaining the property?

    • We need more members on the Planning Commission, any prospects?

    • We would like Wi-Fi in the town hall, it would make meetings run smoother and more efficiently. Would it be possible to make this happen?

    • How much money is in the account for Rachel’s Garden? We would like to have a plaque made. Any remaining funds should go towards maintenance of the property.

    • Is Larry Hebert still our liaison? We would love to have him or any member of the select board attending our meetings

Rachel’s Garden – Finished! We need to clear up who, when, and how maintenance will occur.

    • We think a brief article should be written for the Times Argus telling the story behind Rachel’s Garden and to welcome people to come and visit.

  • Dollar General – In progress and looking good. The footing for the sign was laid today (August 10, 2011). Last update for an opening for September 2011.

  • Solar Farm Update – Have not heard anything

  • This should be forward to Wally Roberts:

    • VTrans is offering $500 grants to Town Energy Committees & towns that  are interested in supporting efficient transportation. Through the “Go Vermont” program, VTrans has created a website and free resources for cheaper, alternative transportation options (car pool, vanpool, public transit routes) for all Vermont citizens. By visiting www.connectingcommuters.org or calling 800-685-RIDE, anyone can review all potential transportation routes going their way.

    • This grant is to be used for material placement and general advocacy at the community level. While most of us are very aware of the ever-increasing transportation costs, far fewer realize there are existing transportation resources at their disposal. This grant program is an initial attempt to work through the local communities to help our residents and businesses save significant transportation costs and reduce pollution.

    • Letters of Interest due to V Trans  September 16, 2011 with notification of successful applications in October.

  • New Town Manager – Jacquelyn (Jackie) Higgens – invite her to our next meeting.

Next Meeting – September 14, 2011
